JSTARY Data Reveals Link Between Driver Habits and Battery Life, Fleet Launches Targeted Training

A French logistics company using JSTARY’s data analysis feature discovered an interesting correlation: the 10% of vehicles with the fastest battery degradation were driven by drivers with patterns of frequent deep discharging and immediate engine-off after hard acceleration.

Platform data showed these vehicles had average remaining battery capacity below 20% at trip end, with high engine RPM before shutdown causing sudden high alternator loads. In response, the company conducted a month-long training program for affected drivers on proper battery usage habits. Following training, average remaining capacity rose to 35%, and battery degradation slowed by 40%.
